at Shogetsu Himuro

Founded in 1894 (Meiji 27), Shogetsu Himuro has been creating its history over 130 years. In the harsh cold of winter, artisans delicately craft ice in ponds filled with pure water. Meticulous attention is given to ice to ensure they freeze evenly. Through this delicate and uncompromising process, we continue to work in harmony with nature, guided by a single purpose - to deliver truely authentic natural ice.

We preserve the winter of Nikko in the form of ice. With this mission, we dedicate ourselves to ice manufacturing year after year. We meticulously manage quality by carefully monitoring weather conditions, water quality, freezing speed and impurities. Even when the process is time-consuming, we never compromise. Because the result of all that hard work is the Shogetsu Himuro shaved ice. We will continue to devote to ourselves to ice-manufacturing, just as we always have.
